We had a few hours of a layover but had access to the star alliance lounge, then just a one hour flight to Malaysia and we made it to our first destination. Part of the goal was to get used to the time change, which we did by collapsing immediately at about 4pm and sleeping until 10 PM. We’ll try again tonight.
Villa Samadhi is a small boutique hotel in the middle of Kuala Lumpor. We have the “loft” specifically selected so we could bird off the balcony.
The bedroom has slanted ceilings and you can’t really stand up in the room. We have each bumped our heads once.

The loft suite has a sitting room which really should be called the “standing room.” Mike coined that phrase early this morning which gave Chris a good chuckle.
Mike had Kaya toast for breakfast that featured a homemade coconut jam. This is a dish we remember well from our first trip to Singapore.

We have been hearing a lot of birds from our balcony. Many of the small ones are not being cooperative and but two species of the larger birds, an oriental magpie robin and a yellow-vented bulbul, are easier to spot. We plan to continue the day pretty low key and just acclimating to the temperature and time because we will be picked up at 6 am for birding tomorrow and it will be a full day.

This is Mike birding from our balcony which has a daybed but I told him he looked like he was in a cage and if he misbehaves I will lock him in.
